• The user may safely place all or part of his weight on the orthotic underarm support, allowing mobility with the proper gait
• The ergonomic design of the STRUTTERS™ system requires less strength and effort of use than conventional and forearm crutches. The system weighs only 3 ½ pounds and once fitted, there is virtually no training needed for use
• The STRUTTERS™ avoid "crutch palsy" (caused when the user places his weight on the top of conventional crutches), a condition damaging the radial and auxiliary nerves. This new system also avoids shoulder problems associated with the use of forearm canes or crutches and carpel tunnel syndrome of the wrist
• The user's arms and hands do not need to carry the full body weight of the user as he can place all or part of his weight on the underarm support of the STRUTTERS™
• The spring-assisted "foot" of the STRUTTERS™ reduces effort, helping to pull the user forward and return to him at the end of the stride. Users say the STRUTTERS™ "walk with you"
• Like the SureFoot™ Family of Canes the STRUTTERS™ use SoleGuard™ by Cat's Paw, affording good skid resistance. The traction surface is 18 sq in comparison with the small tip (1-2 sq in) of the conventional crutches.
• Until now crutch users have always been extremely restricted to smooth and solid terrain or surfaces. The STRUTTERS™ can be used successfully on most surfaces, such as grass, sand, stones and gravel, mud, ice and snow.
