FAQ

FAQ's Heel Lifts

1. What's the difference between Adjust-A-Lift and other heel lifts on the market?

There is a significant difference. Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lifts are manufactured using only the highest quality materials. The suede leather top is very comfortable and does not slip against the sock or bare foot. The rubber that forms the layers is very durable, resists compression and does not move in the shoe. Adjust A Lift heel lifts will not crumble, crack or "pancake" after short use as is often experienced with other heel lift products.

2. Can Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lifts be moved from shoe to shoe?

Adjust A Lift is designed so that you can move it from shoe to shoe. Many people have found that purchasing additional heel lifts for their most frequently worn shoes is much more convenient and the heel lifts last much longer. Remember, if you don't wear your heel lifts at all times you will not correct your problems or get the needed relief.

3. Does Adjust A Lift offer a heel lift higher than 3/8"

No, but you can add another 1/8" to achieve a full 1/2" height by purchasing a full sole insert to place below the heel lift. The insert is the same price as the heel lift and you can combine the lifts and inserts for your quantity discounts. Just remember to order the insert for right or left foot. You can also remove a layer from another heel lift and glue it to your 3/8" Adjust A Lift. We do not recommend going higher than 1/2"-you will "walk out of your shoe".

4. Can I order different sizes?

Yes. Some people need a smaller size for dress shoes. Or you may want to take advantage of the quantity discount pricing by ordering with a friend or family member.

5. Are Adjust A Lifts sold at any retail store?

We are aware of them being sold in some shoe repair stores and other retail outlets but there are not chain or franchise stores that stock them that we are aware of. We do not have a list of such stores.

6. Will I need different lifts for right or left shoes?

No. The Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lifts are not foot specific as it fits into the heel area of the shoe. It can be used in either right or left shoe.

7. Are the heel lifts sold in pairs?

The Adjust A Lifts are sold by EACH, not in pairs, because the main use (but by no means the only use) for heel lifts is to correct for leg-length discrepancy. For that condition the heel lift is used only on the side of the shorter leg.

8. How long do the Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lifts last?

Adjust A Lifts are designed for strength, comfort and durability. They last longer than other heel lifts on the market. "How long" depends upon an individual's height and weight, frequency of use (e.g., if you buy only 1 and move it from shoe to shoe the lift won't last as long), activity (active sports, a job that requires you to be on your feet all day vs a typical day inside the house), etc. Many people buy additional heel lifts to put in all their shoes for convenience; this not only guarantees that they are never without the heel lift in their shoe but this also greatly extends the "life" of each individual heel lift.

9. Are Adjust A Lifts covered by insurance or medicare?

Our understanding is that some insurance plans and possibly medicare may cover some of the cost under certain conditions. We are not in a position to advise you on this subject; please check with your healthcare insurance provider. We do not file any insurance claims. Your order will come with a printed Sales Receipt and your credit card receipt.

10. Can the Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lifts be worn with sandals or open-back shoes?

In warm weather or climates many people use the Adjust A Lifts successfully with sandals or open-backed shoes by gluing the Adjust A Lift to the heel portion of their shoe. We know it is done but we can't give any advice on doing it. And, no, the Adjust A Lifts do not come in any other color but the black rubber with the brown suede top.

11. Do you ever offer any specials?

We try to keep our prices as low as possible. We offer a FREE Adjust A Lift or Full Sole Insert to our customers who recommend these products to family or friends. Make sure if you recommend the Adjust A Lift or Full Sole Insert that your friend or family member tells us your name and address so we can send you the FREE product.

We also will mail a card to you approximately 6 months after you order, with the same offer.

FAQ's Canes

1. Are SureFoot™ canes covered by medicare or other insurance?

Yes, they are covered by medicare. You can link to the site to download the correct form or ask us to send you one with your order. We can provide the correct CPT codes to use for both medicare and other insurance companies. We cannot advise on whether your particular insurance company will cover the canes. We do not file any insurance claims. Your order will come with a printed Sales Receipt and your credit card receipt.

2. Are the SureFoot™ canes safe on slippery surfaces?

Our canes offer much better stability on slippery surfaces than ordinary canes and crutches and you will generally be safe on these surfaces. However, our advice is: DO NOT GO ON ANY SURFACE THAT YOU WOULD NOT GO ON IF YOU WERE NOT USING A CANE.

3. Why are the SureFoot™ canes better than the quad canes?

The SureFoot™ canes stand by themselves as do the quad canes. This is very helpful-you don't have to find a place to hang your cane-it stays right beside you. And you can set it down while you open doors, etc. Also, if the cane falls over you can step on the "foot" to right the cane. But the SureStep™ canes have the following advantages over the quad canes: much lighter weight, take up less room, and you can use on stairs-often the quad cane is too large to fit on stair treads and can actually be quite dangerous. Also quad canes have the small tips on each prong, making them dangerous on terrains that the SureFoot™ canes navigate easily.

4. How long does the rubber base last?

This depends a lot on the weight and pressure applied, whether the cane is used full or part-time, and what surfaces or terrains the cane is used on. In most cases the base should last several years. Your local shoe repair shop can replace the Cat's Paw covering. We recommend that you go Cat's Paw website and order the covering. You can use this link:

5. Can a SureFoot™ or SureStep™ cane be converted to a forearm cane/crutch?

No, the Forearm cane-crutch is an entirely separate product; it is not a "modified" version of either the SureFoot or SureStep cane.

FAQ’s “White Wedges”

1. What are the new wedges made of?

The White Wedges are made from a composition rubber that is durable and comfortable. It is easily trimmed.

2. If the Wedges are used for supination or pronation, why are they sold by “each” instead of in pairs?

The White Wedges can be combined with the Adjust A Lift heel lifts and/or the Full Sole Inserts for quantity discounts—this is mainly a convenience for the Healthcare Community as they are used for a variety of clinical conditions. So f you are buying them for a pronation or supination you’ll need TWO, one for right and one for left.

3. Will I need different Wedges for right or left?

No, the White Wedge can be flipped so the wedge is either on the outside of the right OR left shoe. They are very user-friendly.

FAQ’s Bed-Couch Push-Up Bar

1. Can I use this device if I am lacking strength in my arms?

This device was designed for people who have UPPER BODY and ARM STRENGTH. You need to give yourself a “push” with the handlebars to lift yourself up from a sitting position.

FAQ’s Full Sole Inserts

1. What are these used for?

The Full Sole Inserts are made of the same materials as the Adjust A Lift heel lifts. They are only 1/8” high front to back. They can be used as simply as a “comfort” inset—the rubber non-slip bottom and the sueded leather top are responsible—and can also be used WITH the Adjust A Lift heel lift to give a ½” lift in the heel. You can place the Heel Lift under or on top of the Full Sole Insert.

FAQ’s NEW Kinetic Comfort Heel Pad

1. Can I wear the Kinetic Comfort Heel Pad with the Adjust A Lift heel lifts?

Yes and it will give about another 1/8” in height.

2. What is the difference between the Adjust A Lift and the Kinetic Comfort Heel Pad?

The Kinetic Comfort Heel Pad is made for COMFORT purposes. It does not have the height on the back like the Adjust A Lift heel lift.

3. Why are the Kinetic Comfort Heel Pads sold in PAIRS and the other Adjust A Lift Family products sold by EACH?

Because the Kinetic Comfort Heel Pads are for comfort and not a specific medical problem. Using on only one side then creates a leg-length discrepancy. The Adjust A Lift is mainly used for “leg-length discrepancy” so naturally would only be used on one side to even the legs. The White Wedges are sold by EACH because the medical problem they are most used for also makes them sometimes needed on only one side. The Full Sole Insert is often used WITH the Adjust A Lift so is then only needed on one side.

4. What are the Kinetic Comfort Heel Pads made of?

They are made of a composite non-latex compound with a sueded top. It is the lower composite that absorbs the shock.

FAQ's for

1. What is the advantage of the Exfoliator III over an exfoliator that I hold in my hand and rub on my feet?

You do not have to bend over while standing or sitting to exfoliate your heels or other parts of your body. This eliminates stress and pain to the lower back.

2. Does the Exfoliator adhere to carpet?

It is best to use the Exfoliator III on hard surface floors such as tile, linoleum or wood. The shower stall or bathtub is an excellent place to use the Exfoliator III.

3. Why do the separators on the Yoga/Pedicure shoes have plastic around them? Should I cut it off?

Do NOT remove the plastic. It provides the extra separation that your toes require for yoga to give your body balance and stability. When using for pedicures it keeps the wet toenails separated until the polish has a chance to dry well.

4. What are the Yoga/Pedicure shoes made of?

They are made of the same material that is used to make Birkenstocks. It is EVA, ethylene vinyl acetate, a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It sound scary but it is a safe compound used in all kinds of sports equipment, sports shoes for shock absorbancy, in foam rubber, in fire safe cigarettes and in artificial flowers. Visit Wikipedia to read about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethylene-vinyl_acetate

5. Why did you choose the Héliabrine line for your foot creams?

I have used Héliabrine skin care products for nearly two years and I like them so well that I of course wanted to use the foot creams. I use them myself and find them to be of the highest quality. I feel that when you pay top dollar for a product it had better work and these do! Besides, if they were good enough for Princess Grace (Kelly) I can’t argue with that!
